Car Insurance.

Is there a way to lower the points that you have on your driving record? The one that car insurance companies judge to base how much your premium is going to be? I currently have SR22 insurance due to a less-than-perfect driving history, but NO DUI'S, and NO ACCIDENTS, just a bunch of minor violations, a couple of negligents, and one reckless ticket that I can recall of. I looked at my insurance paperwork, and I'm rated at 24 points...I'm guessing that's kinda high, right?

Anywho, my premium is crazy expensive, and I'm not too excited about paying $300 a month for SR22 liability insurance either.

Anyone know a way around this? A way to lower this points crap? I haven't gotten any tickets for 8+ months now, and have recently refiled for SR22. I like driving around without fear of getting thrown in jail for a suspended license.

How long does this **** stay on your record?

Or am I officially screwed?

As you can tell, I'm kind of oblivious to this, so any info's appreciated.

hmm having a reckless on there isnt going to help much...... thats why you need sr22, reckless driving is right up there with DUI, for how bad it is unforunitly.... prolly stay on your record for 3 yrs for insurance...

i dont know if he does SR22 or not for sure, but call jeff burnett at allstate 253-941-4411. he has cut me and my freinds some great rates, but be honest about your record if u know it,

also don't call the other state offices!!, my friend called a diff office and was quoted 260 a month liability with like 5-6 tix,

but when he called jeff,he got him insured for 140 a month.

As far as I know, only way to get off the SR22 is to have your record go completely clean. I didn't get off mine until my last ticket was off my record. At one point I was paying 275 dollars a month for my rx7 and only had 1 ticket on my record. But I was still on that stupid *** plan until it was gone.

Unfortunately I got put on the SR22 bullshit because of my family, and then got 2 tickets later on. Family got off of it but I was forced to stay on until my record was clean. Completely bullshit....

Oh yah and in the insurance company's eyes it takes 2 years for a ticket to go off your record from what I remember. Or maybe it's 3... It's 2 or 3.

Insurance companies look back 3 years. Unfortunately there isn't much Earl can do about 24 points on his record. Just the way the system works. Just drive sane and wait 3 years.

For full coverage on my 350z with the highest limits I pay $105 a month. 0 points on your record has it's advantages.
