It is possible for apex seal springs to stick or the seals themself, usually because of carbon buildup. I would NOT recomend using WD-40 in your rotor housings (may cause more damage than good because of it's flammable nature, may also cause more build up) .Most will recomend ATF treatment. As far as side seals sticking, It would be hard for you to know if they were or not. But the ATF should still do the trick.

That happened to my FD motor one of the side seals got stuck, the whole seal. It wasn't due to carbon it just got slammed in by the edge of the rotor, I couldn't even pull it out by hand, I ended up having to break it in pieces and finally was able to wedge it out with an old seal. I don't know how factual it is because I never got the chance to try it out, but(DrJones) had told me some have had success reving the **** out of the motor causing the seal to reseat itself, don't know how valid or how risky that would be.

try this first
take a look with a mirror through the leading spark plug hole.
you can see the center of the apex seals and check the spring
pressure carefully with a wooden dowell (don't go using a screw
driver or prybar) just rotate the engine by hand to each seal.

i pumped MMO into the engine, I just hear air coming back into the intake, cant start it up right now because of a fuel issue. So i was Just cranking it over to get everything soaked, and will start it up in a day or so, my question is MMO wont harm the engine if it sits will it?

ok i can try that too, I wish i could get the exhaust mani off while the engine is in, i could look directly at the apex seals! well i will let this MMO sit for starters and see if it works. anyone have MMO unspring an apex seal while cranking? or will that only happen if its going to happen when the car is RUnning??

both if they sit some might stick in cause they are pressed in place and held there untell they lock and some times a spring can be compressed whil driving and it will stay in and stick that way this what i have gathered anyway corect me if i'm wrong

well when i put this engine in it ran fine for a very short time on both rotors, Before i started this engine i just cranked it. Comp sounded even no Missing and everything was fine.. So i fired it up. ran GREAT for few seconds ( not above 2k ) then started missing. so i pulled the egi fuse and cranked it and it Sounded Very Uneven, so i know its not the injectors, SO i did the MMO trick Tonight and Just been cranking it let it sit, went out and cranked it agian, and it sounds allmost like its back to normal, So i think i might have a chance that they are just stuck, I am letting it sit over the weekend and when i get back in town im going to start it up and thats when i will know for sure, So i Do have SOME hope.
i just dont see how i can Break an apex seal after start up at idle, But i guess anything can happen, If i dropped a Bolt or somthing into the engine i would know because the rotors come so close too the housing that it would just lock up the engine, and i covered all intake before i started putting stuff together,

MMO wont hurt your engine if it sits in there. In fact it is one of the ingredients for assembly lube when putting your engine back together. Atf fluid wont hurt your engine either in fact Mazda technicians use it all the time for rotaries.
