calling all rotor heads in NW
im not new here but i did forget my old user name and password, so let me tell you all about me all over again.
Im in the military and have a family, been in for 10 years now, it was very easy at first made rank fast and everything was going good. then 9-11 happened and i can say that did change everything then my job got harder. now i was one to never care who was in office but once again i can say the democrats have cut our forces down. if it wasnt for me making rank fast i would not have a job anymore. i have seen good people lately get kicked out. dont get me wrong and trust when i say the whole military thing well thats what it is to me just a job. thank god that i have had success its true if your going to make money esle where well then down size the military. i just got back from a 6 month deployment and man thats a long time, so let me get to the point now that we know each other again.
i have an 84 GSL-SE i have trained myself on the rotor with the help of a lot of you and the RX7 DOCTOR has help me several times. the car has been siting for about a year i would hate to say its carbon locked but a good chance it could be. i need help with this car, i love the car but i have done all that i can to get the car started. all i can offer is free beer and a cook out, if you have the time just hit me up with a post. later for now and thanks

i dont want to take the engine out, i dont want to rebuild it, just need help getting it started. i know this is asking a lot, i know how it is trust me, i took some time off from working on it because i was just burnt out. why help anyone else out when your working on your own, but i do believe its now past my ability and knowledge. dont worry people its not a rebuild.
where do you live, i might be able to pick you up. and that goes for everybody im willing to do what it takes/ cook out/ beer/ even if you have to sleep over. not to worry we are down to earth people.

Yes try the ATF (automatic transmission fluid) trick. Did the tires stay locked when you pull started the car, or did they give some? I'd help but I cant leave the state, nor do I know where bremerton is.
no the tires didnt lock up, but thier is this weird sound coming from wire harness to the fuel injectors, that might be it but like i said i have not messed with the car in some time. i can get that part off of rx7 doctor for about 30 dollars if he still has it. its just every time i get ready to buy parts something always happens.

wires making sounds? Kinda strange... have you checked to see if your getting fuel and spark? If the tires didn't lock up when you droped the clutch your cars not locked unless your clutch is crap. have you tryed to turn the engine over by hand yet? what happens when you try and turn the key. Does the starter click or grind? are you flooding?
the wires making sound- well it sounds like a dead battery but not as loud kinda like wires touching and its from the wire harness that leads to the fuel injectors. i looked closer at and it looks like its melted some from contact with the engine. man its been so long since i even went under the hood. i will give the car some time in the morning and see if i can turn the engine. i thought it was flooded because a while back it did the same thing to me. then low and behold water that smelled like gas came flooding out the rear passenger side. i cleaned the spark holes and left them open for about 24 hrs put new sparks checked for spark got it. then changed the starter, changed the fuel pump, the car is or was getting gas at one point now mind u i did all this before deployment that was more than 6 months ago. not to mention i moved the inside of the altenator around now to the best of my ability that mean the car is not lock up as well right? and that was 6 months ago. now if i learned anything about these engines is they can take and love being beat. oh yea i even changed the leading terminals i think thats what they are lol well like i said im not that bad for teaching myself but still a rookie. you know we are the one who are keeping these cars alive and its good that we all help each other out and i thank all of you who have taken the time to help me.
when my 7 was down when the engine went last year i was having issues getting it to run with the fresh engine. the **** gas we get these days with the e10 blend in it doesn't like to sit for more then a month without starting to loose octane rating. so save urself a hassle and pull the fuel line and drain the old gas out and put some premium in. when i drained my tank on my 7 and put fresh stuff in it immediatley lighted off and stayed running so its worth a shot trying that.
if u see exposed wire i would definetly fix that before even putting anymore effort on trying to start it. the other thing ive been told on the gsl-se engines is that they require 12v for the ecu to work porperly there fore if the ecu isn't functioning properly your injectors might not be cycling properly. now don't quote me on that but thats what a friend of mine told me about them. ttul
