Buying canadian cars

What does it take to get a canadian car registered in the US? I'm not talking skylines or chasers, but cars we already have on US soil. I remember someone on here picked up a mr2 a WHILE back, so maybe he could chime in. Basically I know it's possible but a lot of people make it sound impossible. Anyone?

If the car is a Canadian version of a car already sold in the US it's not really hard. This generally means it's identical except that the dash gauges are in metric. If there's any other difference - engine or emissions, especially, but anything - you're pretty much sunk.
