The Blues summer

It’s been a long summer of many projects, but we managed to get some of our projects done this summer also, which included CODEBLUE rebuilding our 1985 gsl se (Iotus) with a mild street port by himself. His first build went good, and has almost 1000 miles on the new motor so far.

We changed our 1979 (Blue’s) differential. The exhaust sleeves cracked and a piece went up in the turbo during a nightly drive, but did no damage. Shocking, as it is blue, has had no problems for a couple years now, after changing from the Supercharger to the Turbo setup. I must give heads up to Corksport for the awesome workmanship that they did, especially Derrick.

We also bought another 1979 with a 13b weber setup, built by skip, which was garaged for 13 years or so. We did a nice blue paint job on it, and put it away till next spring.

Here are some pictures of all of our children. (Blue), (Iotus), (Jr.Blue), and (Codecrashleyblue).

What has everyone done this summer, and what are your plans for winter projects?

I'm glad to hear Iotus is back together. The motor is beautiful and I love the wheels.

You ought to let Dave paint yours Z. Can’t wait to see you and your car in the spring. Hopefully you guys have a BBQ or something next summer so we can see everyone again.

Yes, it’s the stock color for the 1985’s. I believe it is sea breeze. If you go to a paint store just ask to see the catalog for Mazda, and it’s under the 1985. We are planning on painting Iotus the same color this winter, so when I get the code I can pm it to you.

Hey Matt. Wow a second one on the way huh…Say hi to serenity for me. Yeah nows all we do need actually is a 2nd and 3rd gen, then a bigger shop. Lol. Will be nice Matt for you to finally have your car up and running and right. Gary will take care of you. It’s been a few years huh. Big hugs.

Well thanks everyone for the kind words. We miss all of you on the West side big time, and hope to see you guys in the spring.

I'm game. I will help you out if you want. I will shoot you a pm later. Lets just go for it and pick a date and get something going next spring/summer. Kinda sucked not having the West sides BBQ this last summer. Us Eastsiders were ready to do the drive.

Id say at the least $500 depending on if they have been curbed or any hash marks. The 15" are pretty hard to find if in nice condition. The 13" and 14" are the more common sizes.

ioTus = L6 (Ocean Blue Metallic)

New motor looks amazing! Keep up the great work. Those cars are absolutely stunning!

For the record, I'm on to another form of "Rex", a "WRX". Finally got me back on the boost, though not with quite as much style as the '7. Problem with the 7 is its just not a great mountain car, and would be a bit of a hassle carrying 3x 30+ pound mountain bikes, on top!

Keep 'em boostin, 'Blue!

Hi Jeoff,
Thanks for the code as your old baby will be getting his new paint this winter. You should come out and see him next spring if your in the Spokane area, and take a quick spin in him, with all the changes/new motor. Iotus still even has his hat...smile.
