Apr. 9 IRDC driver's school/lap day

Hey I just signed up for IRDC's driver's school/lap day on April 8-9. I did this two years back + had a blast. It's only $250 for the school. Last time I met up with one other 7 driver. We need to represent at this event! It's a **** ton of fun. Plus I learned a good amount too.

Does they frown upon driftings?

I did, but then I couldn't stop tasting blueberries and had diarrhea for a week. I think I might be doing it wrong.

I've gone with them for a few years, will probably do again this year, as soon as I get new tires. They do frown upon drifting during their lapping sessions, as do most non-drift clubs, but that's fine...nothing wrong with grip.

Yeah. I'm sure they would hate it if you tried to drift every corner. About two years back my friends did it while it was starting to snow on the track. It didn't stick but it was really wet out. One instructor wanted my friend to truly understand how his car handled so she told him to kick the *** out in a few corners. I think that would be the extent of 'drifting' at this school.

These are generally grown-ups and older racers, they're mostly about shaving off that 1/100th of a second on a lap. Plus drifting is an issue on lapping days, since there's too much diversity in driver skill, and mixing drift and grip would be a safety thing. Even at PGP drifters get their own session. I mean I've seen some advanced drivers kick their tail out in turn 8 a lot, but that's about as far as it goes.
