need help, electrical surge, fb

so ive been having an electrical surging problem in my car for close to a month now, and in the last two weeks ive started going through fuel pump fuses. the car didnt use to fluxuate before, it was always rock solid on the voltage. it fluxuates a little now, never more then 3 or 4 volts, and its carb'ed so it still runs great. i know its not the alternator or the battery. ive got a super ground setup on it, both rotor housings directly to the batery with 4 guage copper stranded and the same wire for the normal grounding setup. i trimmed the harness for the alternator power and regulator wires, so im sure those are all good. but im still getting a surge in the system. when im at idle i can see it in the background lights on my guages and hear it in the fuel pump. but the car always stays running and the fuel mileage isnt changing at all. can anyone else think of anything i should be checking ? the motor does have 201k on it, factory 12a just intake carter 500 afb and straight exhaust if that makes any difference. i am going to be having rob build me a motor but for now i need this car to stay running.

Surging like the rpm's are going up and down, or are the revs solid, but the voltage is fluctuating.
Also if your fuel pump is popping fuses its probably on its way out.

most voltage problems stem from the alternator have it checked first. the internal regulator is probably bad...............just a THOUGHT

alternator is BRAND new, tested twice on the car and twice off of the car, the alternator and the battery are fine. i was able to eliminate most of the voltage fluxuation by replacing an ill connected positive battery terminal, but its still fluxuating. right now i have a razor blade shoved into the fuel pump fuse slot because im tired of replacing fuses in the middle of driving the car. the fuel pump is a holley red and its not that old. i know its something in the system somewhere and its really irritating. im sure its some sort of loose connection or bad wire because everytime i go over any sort of a bump with some speed it jarrs the voltage a big one. then it settles down, but it still fluxuates.
