anyone free around tacoma?
I've got an s4 turbo that is running a bit rough. Backfiring hesitating, ect. I'm a bit stuck at themoment and need some help in figuring out what's going on. I've done as much as I can with my resources [no computer only cell phone internet lol] and whatever I've got in my toolbag.
I blew almost a full tank of gas in 90 miles hobbling the car around town and to work over the week haha.
Motor receny rebuilt and still have yet to fully break it in.
If anyones around tacoma/olympia/fed way that knows turbo2's text me

You always gotta start at the engine. check Compression. if thats all good. then something was not put back Correctly after the Rebuild. Maybe the timing was off. and you have a vac leak at the same time. Sounds strange

Think this one through. You are going through gas at an amazing rate. You are backfiring like crazy. The car is "stock".
Too much gas is going through the engine and not burning compeletly. You are dumping gas into your exhaust system causing the "backfiring".
Why could the gas not be burning?
-coil packs aren't hooked up
-spark plugs are bad
-timing is waaay off
Basically the gas going into the engine is not being burned. Verify timing, Verify spark, inspect spark plugs.

All rebuilt engines or new engines will need to be Tuned. As for the fact that adjustments and settings to keep an older engine running will need to be changed back dew to Higher comp and new engine that has good parts take less fuel If the insides are the same
