-Any Seattle fc gurus wanna help me?-
-Any Seattle fc gurus wanna help me?-
I just picked up a prettyfull fc, but the motor hates life. Besides the fact that the alt is dead i was told that the rear apex seal is out. I would just like to have someone that actually knows rotary's to come out and take a peek for me. Its alot to ask i know :-D
Well I got the car running today with a jump and about 30 seconds of cranking. It would idle at like 2100 2200, smoke was dumping outta the exhaust at first cause it was flooded but it cleared up, It just seems like somethings wrong, maybe a stuck injector or a leaky one, im not really sure.
if anyone wants to come lend me a hand and some knowledge that would be great.. Hell i will buy you lunch or something!

Maybe you could get a phone number for the guy and describe what's going on and he could give you a few tips. I don't know how much work they've done on 7's, but Axiom just finished turboing an RX8 and I think I saw an FC out in front. They know their stuff, but again, it's a long drive. I don't think you'll find anything close enough to Seattle.
I just did a little searching for you Mat. there is a thread that was archived on this forum https://www.rx7club.com/sitemap/t-27438.html
the guy says it's for non0turbos but it may give you a platform to get an idea from. A fuel cutoff switch, that and other forums have said ATF will work, others say low compression is the culprit. So you may want to check the compression then go through the fuel system if some of the other things don't fix the problem.

I saw somewhere that someone said to get a gauge or something from Pep Boys for like $19 and you could do your own compression check. I don't know if he kjnew what he was talking about but hey, do some looking around and you might be able to fix your car easier than you think.
if u dont have a gauge do your own "ghetto" compression test... wont tell u the numbers, but it can give u a good hint of somethings seriously wrong internally or not.
remove the EGI fues, the two fuses ont he driver shock tower closest to the engine,
then remove lower front rotor plug, have someone crank the motor, listen u will here a somewhat loud chh-chh-chh-chh......... remember that sound ,
now put that plug back in, and do that with the rear lower plug only as well,, you chould hear the same chh-chh-chh-chh.
now if one of them sounds alot weaker, makes no sound at all, or is missing a beat or two , like chh.......chh....... chh........ then you have something wrong
if you think they sound the same, try with both lower plugs out, and listen to make sure u hear even chh front chh rear over and over, if one skips a beat or it sounds uneven then somethings wrong compression wise....
if u got a camera u could even post audio of you doing the front one, then rear, then both.... for us

Hey, I'm in Edmonds and could probably help you out somewhat...
However, I have no experience with standalone EMS's, and if the motor's not dead, the EMS and all the extra crap certainly won't help in making diagnosis easy...
Basically the most important thing is making sure the engine is or isn't blown.
PM me if you have any questions or anything else. I'm pretty free for the most of this week, but I can't make any guarentees regarding my availability.
