Just wondering if anyone here is into cycling? If so or not, does anyone know of some shops that buy used bicycles? Recently my Trek 5000 was stolen

I'd appreciate if anyone saw a bike such as above for sale anywhere if you could contact me with some info

Obligatory NW RX-7 content: Those 7 owners that do cycle, how do you carry your bicycle in the 7 when going to mtn trails? Roof/trunk rack? Know of any nice rides to go on? The Burke Gillman to Redmond is a nice one

I bought my road bike at Greg's Cycle (Greenlake location) for $50. It was a good value - 12 speed, 25" chromoly frame, new 27 x 1.25" wheels, quick-release hubs, and lightweight Specialized tires. Total weight is 28 lbs, but the rolling resistance is almost nil..

Haven't tried fitting it into my FB yet. I ride the I-90 bike path regularly, haven't been on Burke-Gilman yet... too many bike cops on the Burke? and I ride without a helmet, which is now a ticket-able offense (aka a source of revenue).

Anything with 2 wheels is alright with me. Rode mountain bikes when I was younger but I like to have a motor between my legs!

Wow Seattle to California?!? Thats almost crazy Was that for fun or an organized 'club' ride? Got any cycling links/forums? I've pretty much just started recently in an effort to save on Gas & Parking fees, oh and to hug more trees. (Sorry but my googling skillz can't tell me where Helena is -- Montana!?)

This past weekend i just did the "flying wheels" in Redmond/Monroe. I only know of http://www.cascade.org for NWs cycling info. STP sounds like a fun ride as well.

Recycled Cycle in the University District is a very nice shop, and has lots of used and new bikes, and plenty of used parts. I have built two custom bikes with parts I bought there (see attachment). They treat people right, and are the fastest growing bike shop in the area, second now only to Greg's.

Delta makes "the hunch rack" that fits on the back of my FD.

It's quite versatile & can adapt to fit most any car.

It's similar to a roof rack in that the front wheel is removed & the bike is held by the fork. This way most any bike will also fit.

The rack rests on the rear window & is held with straps. The rear tire of the bike overlaps the spoiler.

my dad does alot of Riding.
He has a Kestrel, carbon fiber road bike. Triancle tubes, all carbon fiber frame and fork.
I wanna say it weighs around 8lbs or so road ready.
Needless to say he wont let me ride it!! Damn.

Better double that weight estimate Skippy, Kestrels aren't that light.
Most $3-$5K road bikes weigh in at 17 to 18 lbs.

There are exceptions, but they are custom jobs and usually cost more. Way more...........

I have over $7K in my Trek 5900 (built from a fame set, not the complete bike). It currently weighs 14.7 lbs.

I gave up on bike riding after all of my bikes were stolen. I originally had a Speciallized Rockhopper... Stolen. Then a Trek mountain bike (forget model, $700 when I got it). Then I had another Specialized Rockhopper stolen. The last bike I had stolen from me was a Specialized Stumpjumper. The house was robbed also around that time. This was a while back, but I guess that is what happens when you have meth addicts for neighbors. Police were of no help in any of those instances, and didn't even question the neighbors that already had extensive police records from DUIs, domestic abuse, assault, selling drugs, poccession of drugs, theft, vandalism, etc. It was bad news, fortunately those neighbors are long gone, and I am no longer living at that home.
