Any community around central Oregon?
Hey guys,
I just recently purchased a Silver '94 RX-7 FD Touring from my dad that has been my dream car since he would drive me around in it when I was like 5. She has 109,000 miles on her but she runs like a champ. I am going to be starting to do some restoration and reliability mods over the next few months and am looking for a community to help me out. I've always loved cars but I've only recently started working on them myself and have no experience with a rotary. I've been looking through the forums trying to absorb as much info as I can. There is so much there that sometimes I end up confusing myself a bit. Basically, I am just looking for any community around the central Oregon/ Bend area of people who are as stoked on this car as I am and who are willing to talk to me about what they have done to their cars and all that. I know most of the info is in the forums, I just appreciate having an actual person to talk to. Either way I'll keep scavenging the forums for info.
Sorry about the weird post, I'm so excited to own an RX-7, I cant even tell you guys. I'm just looking to learn as much as possible.
If anyone knows any good rotary shops in the area, that would be sick too! The closest ones I can find seem to be over in Portland.
Feel free to DM me for my phone number if you are in the area!
And here is my new baby!
Caught a little black eye but shes a champ
Thanks!

Man she’s beautiful. Even though I love my FC Turbo 2 chassi. I hope to one day own an FD3S as well. Dude I’m out in western Oregon. Eugene área to be exact. It sucks because the rotary community down south or central Oregon just sucks. It’s dead. I do see a few rotary heads around but they are not as welcoming. F them though. Northwest Oregon and Washington looks like it’s got a decent rotary scene. When I get my car up and running. I’m taking mine down south to Southern California to get it tuned. If you are looking for someone to help you. Honestly look up Kurt Robertson out here by my ways. He throws this annual rotary workshop that’s hella dope. It’s like 150$. And it’s a 3 day workshop teaching you how to rebuild your rotary. Names Ever by the way.

There are meets in that area from time to time and people will bring them out. There are a few FB's in your area if you do not mind meeting up with older generations. The portland area is still the best though. Cars and Coffee in seattle would be worth attending. However Oregon is having a hard time getting its meets together. PIR has the most people gathering now days. Kurt Robertson and Pineapple Racing are places to check out when in the area. I thought that the workshop was free! I did not know he charged for it! There are no tuners in Oregon, I have heard horror stories about all the shops in the metro area. Welcome though! Maybe someday we can all get a cruise together and start or end in your area!
