any car auction guys around?

just wondering if anyone on here has some insurance or repo auction hookups, i sold my motorcycle and now need some good reliable transportation. some minor body damage is ok as long as its fairly easily repairable, my concerns are engine and drivetrain, has to run good, have reasonable mileage, and not be to old and beat up. specificly ive been looking for late 90's early 2000 vw golf or jettas, late model s13 or s14 240sx, or if i could find a 2000 ish subaru wrx that needs some body work but is selling for cheap enough to make it worth wile what would be great as well, open to other cars as well those are just my "best case scenario" options, let me know if someone can help out, thanks

had found a good deal on craigslist but the car got sold before i could go look at it, i dont belong to a credit union, but if anyone does and wants to look for me, lol that would be cool. if i get another 7 ill just want to mess with it, soo one more reason to stay away from them, i just need a reliable dd that gets good mileage so i can just drive it and not have it torn appart every weekend messing with it. i need to focus on getting the fd done

What do you consider good gas mileage? My '02 Jetta that I recently just got gets anywhere from 24-27 MPG mixed driving. I used to drive a Civic as my DD and that thing got 30 MPG no matter what I did.

I miss the Civic for the gas mileage. I don't miss it because it's an easy target for thieves.

BTW, I've had all sorts of troubles since purchasing this car used. A lot of is electrical and thank God it's nothing mechanical but it annoys the heck out of me.

Good luck with your search.

Mike

good is anything above 25, im use to the fd's 14-18 (on a good day) the bike got like 35-40, ive been lookin at some 96 jettas, and some golfs, cant seem to find my ideal DD wich would be a 2000 golf 1.8t thats got a salvage title or somethin, dont care about body work as long as mechanicly is sound and runs and drives good, without a ton of miles on it

lol thanks, but if he was leaving the motor and **** in the car id pick that up, but he yanked those, i dont want to have to hunt down an engine/trans and crap, just take it to the body shop, have them spend a weekend fixing it, and get it back on the road. im gona go look at a 96 jetta, and a 94 golf up in portland in an hour or so, hopefully just pick up one of those

well guys, picked up a 96 vw jetta trek edition in portland with 138k on it, timing belts been done recently, needs front struts, and stock springs put back on, sits too low and rides way too rough, other then that gona try and trade someone rims, get some new tires, and get everything allignd and reballanced so it stops shaking at highway speeds. but still if someone comes across an 02 wrx, (or newer) that needs some body work and is sellin for cheap let me know, cause i should be getting a job soon and would much rather have that, and ill just sell or give the jetta to my little bro
