crazy packed and it's always some 10.5 or 9.5 field and I don't think there are any 10.5 rx7's around here.

I've heard it's difficult to get on, almost impossible. First you have to register online, they have only 450 slots for cars at each track,(these fill in within about 5 minutes or less) of the cars that get to run, they pick a run group of 16, after everyone makes some passes on the first day to see what the cars do; the show picks a run group that meets their criteria.... they may run 10.50's or they may run 12.20's... you never know. they just want the 16 cars to be the closest group possible... so that all cars that make that cut have a fighting chance at winning the money, and everyone has to run 'all out' to get it.

my only question is this.... are they using the tree yet? so they eliminate the arguing at the start line on the 'hand drop' BS. a 5/10ths pro tree is the only way to make a true head-up race like this fair.

they have a tree for the first part then once they have the 16 cars then they go to the hand drop. even if the slots are full most of the fun is going tobe in the parking lot. fri tune and test then sat is show day. i will be there fri & sat. Then there is a car show in seattle that i will be going to to check out the cars. so i will be there all weekend. if any body wants to meet up pm me and ill get you my number or just pm me your number and name.

I took time to watch a few of the recent episodes online. they run on a 4/10th's pro tree for the first pass, then a hand drop pass for every car that shows, and they watch carefully to see if anyone is sandbagging or lifting. They set all cars up so they run against cars with very similar times(they can get more passes in faster this way too) on the hand drop pass they have a 'rolling average time' that you must beat in order to stay in. run slower & you're out. run too fast from what you stated your car would do and you're out. they still use the timing system to prove who's 'bagging and they use video to prove who's jumping the start. essentially you must run all out, & run your number, or go home.
after all the cars have run twice, and are still in, they then select the tightest group of 32... they put these into the eliminations on the show. if your car blows up in the lanes or on camera, chances are it'll get on TV.... but oil down the track or put anti-freeze down(they have a rule of against anti-freeze, you must run water).... you're out for 2 years..... do it twice, you're out period, forever.

there are some RX7s at the other events, I think I saw a white FC at one, and a black FD at another...

I was correct about racer slots filling in within about 5 minutes for every event. I did look at the list of racers 99% are from this region, I saw two from CA, one from CO, and a few from Canada.... most are from WA, OR, ID, MT, BC & AB................... division 6 of the NHRA

wish I could say I was going, but I work friday, and Bremerton has a T&T on Saturday that I'll be at.... why just watch? since the crowd is @ PR, I should be able to get plenty of runs in

enjoy the show, I'll go enjoy the ride and get my reaction time in shape...
