Wow thanks dDub, I am an idiot I ran 5-20 all summer and last time I changed I only had 10-40 so thats what I used, judging by your chart that makes me a newb, ohh well now i am running 10-40. Did i **** my engine up this summer by putting the most opposite oil i could in, it never once overheated or even got near overheating so idk it seems fine.

I run 10-30 year-round. Thicker oil robs horsepower, decreases fuel economy and gets mighty thick in the cold weather. I can see a turbo owner running 20-50 in the summer months, but otherwise it's pretty phycho in our climate. In stock racing classes, we typically run 0-16. On the street, anything-30 is fine, particularly if it's a synthetic. Going thicker is just thowing money away and not providing any real benefit.
EDIT: I don't much care for 10-40 due to the way in which they extend the viscosity range. 10-30 is much better, in general.

Since I have my omp blocled off and the fact that it is cold and Washington really doesn't see too many temp "extremes" I have made the swap to 10-30 and haven't had any issues. Warms up quicker which has been nice since I have to daily drive my 7. I have always used "quality" oil in any of my vehicles anyhow. By "quality" I mean oils that have a petroleum base and not the parafum (wax) base that some of the cheaper oils have. You all know what wax does when it burns (leaved residue, adheres to surface it melts to).
