The water pump to water pump housing has a gasket, and the water pump housing to engine block has a gasket.

use an easy out to drill in to the bolt and then to pull the screw out. this same thing happened to me. i just didnt feel like dealing with it. so i threw water pump gasket rtv blue on the back of the gasket LOL.

it will be easier to deal with if u remove the pump housing from the engine.

Which bolt snapped? One of the studs in the block? Or one of the bolts that secure the water pump to the housing? Note that the water pump bolts to a housing, which then bolts to the block.

Don't use an Easy Out. They were never intended to remve stuck bolts and will likely just break off in the bolt, which will make the problem much much worse.

ok are you guys ready for this one? i was looking at it, and noticed it was a housing behind the water pump....off it came...was kina a pain in the ***. some brackets had to be removed...and i have no idea what the little clear plastic lines(fluid of some sort..maby oil?4 total) had to be removed aswell. but the housing came off...after that we broke the easy out off in the bolt, and btw the bolt that broke was NOT a stud..it was a bolt that holds the water pump to the housing. but we got the busted little bugger out...and saved the thread's.no tapping or cleaning. the car was put back togeather and all is well minus one upper rad hose i broke. all of this happend and was put back togeather then i read your post aron...next time im not touching my car till i hear from you on somthing like this lol. thanks for the help guys:P
