So my father purchased a Blower Motor Resistor for his 1988 Mazda RX-7,
however the one he purchased had 2 prongs and the mechanic said we need a 3 prong, shaped like the Pi symbol.
I have searched High and Low and I cannot find this part Anywhere. I really want to avoid going to a junkyard or pick-a-part because I just dont have time and I dont know what I am looking for exactly.
is there Any way someone can help us get this car blowing AC again?
The mechanic has been working with me trying to find the part, it is original to the car as far as my dad knows. He received it practically brand new from my uncle back in the early 90s.
The mechanics also said it would probably be easier to find a whole Housing with the resistor included.
the AC blows but only on high, and if the slider gets moved at all it shuts off and to get it blowing again I need to restart the car.
I was able to pull out the entire housing tonight and get a few pics for you all.
here is the connection at the resistor,
and heres where its supposed to connect onto the housing I think?
its the only Pi shaped connection.
as you can see the resistor I have doesnt even have the same shape to it, they both have metal prongs in them, I can get a picture of the connection in the cab tomorrow morning if needbe.

I can't help you out much more other than to suggest to get one for a s5 car, it may be a 3 bladed one because 88 was on the hairy edge of when they were moving into s5 era, but i havent seen a s5 one so i'm not sure
