Wont rev past 3k

So, I'm going to look at another FC tomorrow, since I sold my last one in winter I've regretted it ever since. The car's not bad, but the guy told me over the phone that it wont rev past 3k. Everyones telling me its a bad afm but I have no clue. Any ideas? Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

It could be a bad AFM, a large grounding problem, or a bad secondary injector.

Also check the Boost/Pressure sensor. One thing you could do is disconnecting the vacuum hose at the sensor and plug it, disconnect the TPS sensor and try to rev past the 3000 RPM.
