i have 2 questions, first will s5 clear signals fit on a s4 rx7? if they do can i just get the covers or do i need the whole assy.? my next question is i own an 86 and the guy i bought it from said he put a turbo2 rear end in it for the lsd, but my car is a gxl and came with lsd? what would be the gain from the swap? how can i tell if it really has been swaped?

ok that was like 5 questions, but all help is useful. thanks in advance

You can't bolt on a TII LSD without other major changes.

Don't know off hand about the clear lenses, but I suspect they fit.

TII rear ends are larger and stronger than their NA counterparts, but as Aaron pointed out, you can't just bolt in the rear end alone. TII half shafts and a custom driveshaft must also be used. Maybe the previous owner did do this, but maybe he didn't know what he was talking about.

And no, you can't use S5 turn signal lenses on an S4 bumper. If you look at the S5 RX-7 in the forum's banner, you'll see that the S5 ones are thinner.

I think you can tell by the number of Ribs on the back of the Diff.
7 and 11.Not sure which is which.TII is heavier,I know that.
The TII LSD and the N/A LSD have tags,on the Filler nut that say"fill with LSD type fluid only"
The TII Lsd's are beefier and the half shafts are also,
If you put in an N/A Lsd you can't use the TII Half shafts or Drivehaft,,they all have to be the same.(for TII or N/A),BUT you can use either setup with the 4 or Five lug rear spindle assemblies as the Splines on teh half shafts are the same.

A search of the 2nd gen section says the TII case has more ribs, which makes sense seeing as it is larger.

For what it's worth, I had my car in the air today and counted 9 ribs on my NA LSD. So if yours has 9, it's from an NA.
