Wont idle need help please!
I have an 86 n/a that has no idle. When I start the car it jumps to 3500 rpm then drops to 0 and dies. I can give it gas, but it backfires very loud and smells like gas pretty bad. Like it's running way too rich. I replaced the coil packs and cleaned the mass air flow sensor those didn't help. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

Plug your AFM back in.The engine will not run without it.
Also check for any Vacuum leaks.
Did you put the small hose back on after attaching the Intake assembly?It runs from the corrugated hose to a steel pipe at the top of the engine,near firewall.

I haven't been able to find any vacuum leaks and the AFM was cleaned and put back on and connected with the same results. I have an extra AFM I can replace it with. If that could help?
