wiring problem?
new to the trianglemabobs......so i can turn my ignition to the start position and it wont turn over...only does when i push the clutch in...not normal, so it starts but if i go to push the clutch in and what it sounds like is that when i do this my starter starts

The clutch needing to be pushed in for the starter to spin is normal. There is a safety switch that makes this happen. In fact almost all manual transmission cars have this. As far as the grinding, could be bad starter.
99.9% sure that what you said is not the problem, im pretty mechanically inclined...its like my clutch is my ignition and turning my key just gives me power.... so i turn the key to the on position let go of the key.....push the clutch in it turns over(starts)...go to put the car into gear it push the clutch in when the car is running it activates the starter again..
when i turn the key to the start position nothing happens....if it is running and i try and turn it back to the on position it shuts off? normally when you turn a car on you the key springs back to the on position this doesnt..and still the wiring problem exists? idk im out of ideas.

The clutch has to be depressed for the car to start when the key is turned to the start position. If your key is not springing back to the normal ON position then it sounds like your key/switch is messed up. This would possibly explain why when you press the clutch in again with the motor running the starter engages.
everything is wired to the started right. i got a haynes book and going to start running threw all the wires...and now its flooding real bad, it wont start the gas smells old..its dumping so much fuel that its dripping out of the manifold ect..car must have been sitting for atleast 8 months i do believe, plugs are fairly new by the look of them also
