the wipers on my 86 gxl n/a can only use the 2nd speed out of the 3 settings. ive done some reading on the forums and i cam across some ideas on what it could be(i.e. lubing, losing the wipers etc..)

any ideas would be helpful

 

I don't know about your 86 but on my 92 I had to replace the wiper assemble lever itself, not that hard but you do have to remove the steering wheel. I'm sure there are lots of articles about how to due it.

 

It is generally one of two causes, in this order:

-wiper switch relay...I believe this is covered in the FAQ.

-seizing wiper arms...Lube or replace them.
