where can i get an original mazda key
i just bought an fz and the key i have only opens the car door and turns the car on but it doesnt open the glove boxes. is there a way to get an original key.

It is possible the door lock and ignition cylinder were replaced and thus now are keyed differently. If you think the key you have is worn or cut wrong, you can take out the door lock and read the keycode off it. You can then take this number to a locksmith and get a key cut exactly from the code.

Thanks ,i have to take out the key cylinder thing out anyway from the passenger side door anyways cuz its inside the door so all i have to do is take it to a locksmith?and how much would that cost?

I went to mazda for my 92 FD, to be honnest i dont know the exact price but the key is very ugly, if you want some stylish key, ebay for about 20$
I hope mazda sell it under 20$ otherwise it doesn't worth it

One last thing, i took out the key cylinder thing from the passenger side door and i had to take out the door panel to do so . So now iam just wondering how to put the key cylinder thing back into the key hole without it moving every time i put the key in.so my question is what can i use to keep the key cylinder thing from moving??
