wheel problems
hi guys i just bought my first 7 is an 86 gxl na, i also just got new wheels for it they are 215/50/17 now i know thats a bit big and eventually when i get some money i will buy 45s instead of 50s, but my question is i had to put spacers to get the wheels to fit the front (offset is +42 i believe) the spacers that are on it are just temp. , now what kind of spacers should i get , should i buy them for the rear also, and eventually i want to drop the car 1 1/2 so is there anything i should be aware of when i decide to do this? ( i will be stuck with the 50s untill next year)

Sounds like you already found a spacer thickness that works. If it's anything more than a 5mm in the front, you should use longer studs or a studded spacer to ensure enough lugnut/thread engagement. You shouldn't have an issue in the rear, they will just look a bit sunk. Whether you should buy rear spacers depends on how much the flush look is worth to you.
I prefer the type of spacers with a drilled bolt pattern versus the generic slotted spacers with slots.

Dropping the car will be fine, but you will gain a bit of negative rear camber.

the spacers that are on it now are just temp. i would like to get ones with the studs because i do not want to change all of the studs ,any recommendations because i have never bought or know anyone that has for reference , and from what i have seen on here i pretty much get ,dont waste money on drop spring and struts just buy coilovers now with that being said i would like to buy stance and im sure that goes for most people ,is there something else just as good but maybe a bit cheaper, besides used ones which i will probably go with

You can run a 5mm slip-on spacer in front permanently. Studded spacers aren't usually found in thicknesses under 15mm. I wouldn't trust them if they did. I'm running a 25mm spacer in the rear with 17x7.5 +45 wheels and 225/45's without issue. I like ichiba, kicks, H&R for brands of rear spacers. We even used a generic brand of spacers with a lemons car. I'd prefer a name brand because it's hard to tell the quality of the wheel studs until they break. Then it is too late. Just my opinion though.
