What rebuild kit?
What rebuild kit?
I've tried Googling this, and I've also tried searching this forum. I've read a lot about Atkins, and I've also heard mix feelings on this.
Basically, I want to use my FC (well, future FC, should actually have it in my yard next month) as a track car. And I want to know what the difference between the rebuild kits is, and which one you think I should go with if I'm going to use my car strictly for racing. I've heard a lot of people recommend hurley apex seals, but I don't see a kit that comes with those? I also read that some people thought Atkins is using/used Hurley apex seals?
The car has had a bunch of mods done to, but the ones I'm concerned with is that it has a T3/T4 turbo in it (along with the supporting mods). I was wondering if you guys think I should port it to 3mm seals instead of 2mm? I read most people didn't think you needed 3mm seals, and they actually pop more often than 2mm. But I don't know what the turbo is compressing to. Though, I don't really want a car with more than 250-300whp, which I have a feeling I'm either going to have to change the turbo to something smaller, or at least re-tune it to have a much smaller compression rate.
Anyways, my questions were about the rebuild kits, and 2mm vs. 3mm?

It sounds like you've sifted through quite a bit of bullshit.
3mm apex seals are typically used for rotors with apex seal grooves that are worn beyond spec.
Also, if you're looking to stay within a certain power range... Check this site out -> FC3S Pro: Mild to Wild Power

That makes sense about the seals, thanks ^^
I'm still confused about what rebuild kit I should get? Or, were you guys suggesting that I get all the parts and not use a kit? And as for the link you gave me, thanks; I was wondering what all the different stages meant. But I plan on autocrossing the car, so I was thinking somewhere between 250-300whp? I just don't want it to end up being like I'm driving on plastic or something.

Get an Atkins 'Master Kit' with 2mm apex seals. It has everything you'll need, and will be able to provide you with plenty of strength and security beyond your desired HP range.
