I just bought an 87 rx7 and I don't which model it is. It has the phone dial rims. No power windows. The car didn't have a stereo. And what is the difference between s4, s5, etc models?

thanks, rotaryrocket88. i just checked the specs list, and i think i have the 1988 SE model, although i was told it was an 87. Gotta check my vin. Might be a late 1987 model, which was actually an 88.

 

Check the information plate on the drivers door jamb. If it was built in late 87 it was likely sold as a model year 88. The title or registration card should reflect the model year of the car. Also, be aware that the previous owners may have replaced certain items on the car making it difficult to visually categorize it with respect to model year.

 

vin number is 500215, which means it's an 87. was confused about which modeli had because the car has all the accessories like sunroof, radio and equalizer, antenna, and other options for the higher models, etc. Except i dont have power windows?

 

it just may be an gxl cause i think my gxl came with power windows equilizerand oh hey did it come with a rear windshield wiper ???
