Red face What to cover the holes on the rear hatch on FD?

Hi guys,

I have a black FD. It is an R model so it comes with the rear spoiler. I am thinking to remove the spoiler but then it will expose 4 holes on the rear hatch. It is going to rain in my area so I want to know where to buy some direct-fit cap/covers to put there.

Thanks in advance!

I was in a similar situation on my first FD when I removed an ugly wing the PO had installed. I personally don't know of any direct fit caps to fit those holes but post if you find them.

A few options (some not the most practical).

1) Buy a wingless/no-hole rear hatch. Pricey and hard to ship. =(
2) Have holes welded/filled professionally. Prices and time consuming.
3) Go to McMaster-Carr or maybe even Lowe's/Home Depot. There should be plugs both hard and soft of different sizes (at McMaster-Carr online for certain). Find a size that fits and plug (seal with some gasket sealer of some sort to be extra careful if you desire).

Good luck!

I found some low profile plastic plugs and painted them over a 4 day period (1 coat a day) with 4-5 coats of touch up paint to match the car. Popped them in, held in place with a dab of black RTV on the underside to seal them and stop them from flying away.

HTH,
