NJ weird low/high idle

ok heres another one im gonna throw at you guys and i should be good for a while lol. another issue with my 88 rx7 t2 i bought is that when the car is cold and you start it up it idles low and normal. has the nice streetport lope sound to it. once the car warms up it starts getting high and then stays at about anywheres from 1500 to 1800 rpms...the motor was redone 750 miles ago i bought it like this. car runs amazing too... is there an idle adjustment screw on the throttle body or something simple that will make it lower?

gotcha. i need to find someone in my area that can help me out. Im going crazy trying to get mine running for more than five seconds.

My exhaust is super loud though. I think the guy that had it before me put hollow cats on it or something. My neighbors hate me for sure.

hah my 90 na was like that, raceing beat header, high flow cat, 2.5 custom pipe to a apexi style muffler. was rediclously loud and even had a huge resignator in the pipeing too... im glad my turbo 2 is quiet. 2.75 inch dp to no cat, to dual raceing beat mufflers.. but i gotta figure this out. was driving it tonight and now its kinda annoying me lol.

ok i fixed the problem yesturday.. there was a little set screw on the actuall throttle arm yesturday, adjusted it with a small flathead screwdriver just turned it out a few turns and the idle went right down.. the weird thing is that it doesnt backfire as much as it did when idleing high...

Would it be possible for you to take a picture of which screw you are talking about? I am still having problems with mine.

ill try if i can figure out how to post pictures on here... are you turbo or n/a? it was a tiny flat head screw on the throttle arm i guess you would call it, located behind/underneath the top mount intercooler...

sounds like you adjusted the idle stop screw. Keep in mind, changing the position of one adjustment screw on the throttle bottle, usually changes the relationship between them all. It's a balancing act to get them to all synchronize correctly.

Im NA i think i may have figured out my problem though. when i removed the AWS i did not plug the lines i simply just reconnected them like the AWS solenoid was not there. I will try plugging them tomorrow and see what happens.

^^ Yeah... that's a huge vac leak you caused. You basically gave the intake a giant open air source to draw from.

well i removed the single hose and capped both ends where it was connected. now it starts and revs to 3000 rpm's then dies. Im going to check all my hoses again but im kind of at a loss of what it could be. Any ideas?
