weird colored gas and a pool of fuel?
ok so if you have fallowed my other thread you will be more familiar with my situation. but ive just installed a new fuel pump... it was a universal kind and i got it in alright... definitely nothing like the old one but i though that was normal. Anyways when i start it sometimes fires up for only for a couple seconds... longer if someone is spraying ignition fluid into the barrels. But after about 15 seconds of cranking the barrels and choke will be filled with gas and the engine flooded. anyone know whats going on?
Edit* and the gas is really dark yellow, almost the color or red bull or beer>?
sorry for my lack proper terms or whatever... this is pretty much my first time working on a rotary/carbed car besides oil changes and car audio stuff.
Thanks in advance for any help!

how much pressure does the car require and how much pressure is the pump putting out?
Also,it is carbed right Mike?.The carb could need to be re-done/cleaned or whatever due to sitting for a long period of time.
If I remember carbs right,The Needle valve would stick and allow fuel past the bowl and directly into the Venturis.

If you are getting red fuel into the bowls, then the fuel lines/tank are rusted. Rust and junk would certainly clog the needle valve causing fuel to overflow.
The Canadian Tire carb pump should work fine. I've used one on my old carb'ed '78 oh so many years ago and put over 50K on it.
