WA- is the service manual a good gift?

Hello everyone,

I apologize if this is not the right place to post this but I am thinking of Christmas gifts to get my boyfriend ( a recently proud new owner of a 1993 rx7). He's recently been into repairing the small things in his car to make it run more smoothly. He's a avid user of this forum and other online resources to fix his car, but I came across the idea of looking into getting him a service manual for his car. As it turns out, as you all know, those things are not cheap. sadly
But! I found a service manual+ repair CD on eBay. they're definitely affordable but Im wondering if it contains the same contents, also is it overall just kind of a lame gift?
anyone have an opinion on whether or not it would make a good gift?

Thanks for your time and input!

-Yunnie

I'll Personally answer this one..!!
(the answer is YES!)

Now if he doesn't agree with the thoughtfulness of his loved one giving him such a dedicated gift as this, then by all means PM me and we can "chat".....(please note, that I am typing this with a flirtatous grin on my face..hahahha!).
Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

An electronic version of the manual is available for free on the below website. You can just burn it to a CD and save some money.
Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals

Lots of affordable gift ideas at this website:
Rotary13B1.com: Your Online Source for Rotary Engine Parts & Accessories!

Also, Blitz oil pan part number 05075 looks like a rotor. You can call your local auto parts stores to see if they have it. The price is usually about $5. It has lots of uses besides holding oil.

Yunnie...you're a keeper. BUT, I kind of agree with Aviator. Unless he's an old fossil like me and prefers the hard copies, seems like buying the books would be a bit of a waste when you can download and/or burn the entire Factory Service Manual onto a disc for free.
Maybe an option would be to just stealthy listen for parts, tools or other stuff he might want for the car and then post back up...we'll all be glad to help you find it...and make Misterstyx take a cold shower before he posts.

Merry Christmas to everyone subscribed. Especially you Styx. I'm betting this isn't the easiest section to mod and you keep it light and welcoming.
BTW, I got cigars and a new craftsman stool. Which are both essential SST's while working in my shop.
