Video.....Tranny dead? Clutch issue?

1996 FD3S Stock engine except for intake and catback exhaust.

History:

I bought the car for around $750 USD and it needed help. Barley ideled and would bog down hard at wide open throttle. I found several vacuum leaks and broken valves that have since been fixed/replaced (thanks again Dale).

I have on hand all new brake system components to install, current brakes are beyond sad. Been running metal on metal for a while it looks.

I also have a fuel filter, new plugs, gaskets and silicone hose to redo the rest of the mess to head off any future issues if possible.

The car was running great and idleing smooth, boosting good, and I was just waiting on brakes and the paint job.... I thought.

There was a little oil under the car, but I wasn't too worried because it was running strong and I had just done an oil change (yes I spilled a little) so I though it was residual drips. It wasn't a lot and I checked the major fluid levels and didn't see a change.



Currently:

I went to drive home from work the other day and when I went to leave I had to rev up to around 3000rpms to even get it to move and even then it was barley moving at all. Once I got going up to about 25 kmh it would have a tiny bit more power. I could still hear the turbos and the blow off valve. I could feel the transition to the secondary turbo. No power comparatively. Just limped home.

My first thought was the brakes were stuck shut but nope. verified.

Second I was thinking maybe the primary turbo was dead and stuck blocking the airflow, but I couldn't have gotten the transition to the secondary (at least from the little I understand) and I popped off the inter-cooler pipe (exit) and could feel the crazy amounts of airflow coming out of the inter-cooler toward the TB.

Next my thoughts went to the fuel and ignition. Which I am already planning and waiting on parts to update anyway. BUT I doubt it is fuel starvation too because the engine seems to run, idle and rev great still.

Then I was playing with the car kinda rocking it on and off the throttle listening and realized my clutch essentially had no affect. I don't think it is the clutch either though, lol. I can kinda feel it engage and disengage. BARELY but i have never had a clutch go out on me so I really have no experience with clutch or tranny problems.

The video shows me trying to drive in first gear. Engine idles fine and revs fine (see tach) but i can take my foot completely off the clutch and when it would normally buck and stall, the cars barely bounces the idle. I tried it in all gears some bounced the idle a little more but no where near a stall or what it should be. So I have a good engine but the power isn't getting anywhere.

I am thinking it is the clutch now after more digging. Any ideas?

Check your slave cylinder..

These I think have a pull type clutch so maybe throw out bearing jammed up.

Check cv axles to I broke and axle on a celica and it did that in ever gear I thought clutch but cv axle sheared the bolts off (burnouts...lol) ....on that note check drive shaft too.. when that trans has no resistance it won't stall the engine.

No, I haven't had time to get it on the lift yet. I am going ahead and ordering a new clutch kit for it. Couldn't hurt. I am pretty sure that's what the problem is now. I visually checked the cylinders, and they look brand new externally. I don't see any cracks on the boots or leaks. I will replace them when I do the clutch if it looks iffy at all. I have a big list of things to replace next time I get it over to the shop. I am gonna have it all torn apart. I will try to take pics and update this so others with the same issue can learn.

I forgot to look at the cv axle, I gotta remember to check it out. I have not done any burnout a but I bet the previous owner did, lol.
