Ummmmm Crap!

So I just got an 81 Rx7 (1 of my dream cars) and it was in need of a tune up so I started. Soon decided to rebuild the carb and finished that last night. Also my front cat has been overheating alot so I decided just to hallow it out today. So I got down and dropped the cat and saw that the manifold only had 4 more bolts to remove before I could drop it as well. I decided to do that as well, spur of the moment, and clean it also. While in the process i soon remembered that I didnt drain the anti-freeze as it starts pouring from the bottom!!! I dont know how much got into the intake and exhaust but i dont know what I should do! Is this going to cause a problem? The oil pan is already off because of the oil change. I'm not worried about the exhaust since that will just burn off but did i just screw up my engine? Should I pour something in it to flush it or crank it manually? Please help!!!

Try this.....


unplug the power to your dizzy
take out your spark plugs
take out the fuse for the fuel pump.

and crank the motor......

what this will do is flush out any fluids out the spark plug holes....

do this a few times..... and place everything back together! hope this helps!

Thanks! So is that done with the manifold and carb back on? And sorry but what is the Dizzy? I've also got the interior out so would I just be able to unplug the fuel pump?

With the spark plugs removed, you won't build any compression, so there's no risk of damage by having coolant in the intake runners. You also might consider pounding a pair of freeze plugs into holes in the rotor housings, though I'd ask in your regional area first. Idaho might get cold enough that the carb would ice without that hot coolant flowing under it. If not, you can likely block it off.

When it comes to clearing the engine, your fuel pump won't be a problem, as the floats cut off the fuel supply inside the bowls. You'll draw a little fuel through the idle circuit as you crank it, but that won't cause any trouble. Once you spin your motor over and clear the coolant, you can reinstall your sparkplugs and get going again.
