UK - '91 FC Headlight Problem

Hi all, i drive a '91 FC vert with a turbo II conversion. Recently i have had some trouble with the headlights being very tempremental. A couple of days ago i got in my car, started it, turned the main beams on and all lights worked (and lights popped up) but the lamps didnt come on, after having a quick checkover they came on on their own once the car seemed to warm up. After this they seem to have been working fine up until tonight.

Now only the sidelights work, when turned to full beams the lights completely cut out and even high beam/flash will not work, whilst the bumper lights and tail nlights are working fine. Ive checked the fuses in the drivers footwell and they are fine.

Is there anything else i can check? Ive done some reading and will check the relay, but just completely stumped by this.

Also do you have to remove the headlight cover to check the bulbs/get them out? as unlikey as both bulbs going at once is, i still need to check them.

any help would be much appreciated, cheers

Yes you do need to remove the plastic head light bezel to remove/check the bulbs. Do you have a test light or meter? If so check for posisitive voltage at the head light connector. Then you can also check for negative circuit once you've checked the positive side. Also check the connectors for corrosion, had that issue with my 1st gen. good luck
