Two Cycle Oiler for 1993 RX-7
1993 RX-7 - I bought a two cycle oiler and a nice resavor tank to hold the oil off of Ebay. My car under the hood is 100% stock and not seeing any place to mount the resavor tank. Has anyone installed a resavor tank on stock car? If so, where did you place it.

Perhaps he is referring to the units that install between the OMP and the engine block, that use an external 2 cycle tank to feed the OMP rather than the engine block itself. You'll want to make sure the reservoir is mounted above the pump. You could build a mount onto the side of the air box, next to the IC coupler or the relays near the strut tower. Depends on the size/shape of your reservoir though.

Those units don't replace the OMP, they just change the source of the oil fed to them. It states this in the instructions.
The Metering Pump Adapter, as offered by Real World Solutions, takes the solution one step further by allowing the builder to continue using the stock metering pump, but supply it with two-stroke oil.

Two Cycle Oiler
Wow, thanks for all of the response. The set up that I bought off ebay included everything. I tried to attach a picture. In trying to figure out the best place to install the oiler and was questioning the heat shield I called the manufacturer of the part that goes in between the oiler pump and connects to the oil resovior. He told me this was the nicest one he'd seen and costs an easy $200 $300 and that I had gotten a great deal. To tell the truth I just got my car back together after installing an oversized Koyko radiator. I kind of made the decision I wasn't going to install it, but now that I have it back together I will look for a place for it. Maybe I will leave it stock. Thanks again everyone.

Nice looking tank. If you could fab up a bracket, right next to the airbox might be the only area it would fit while still being higher than the pump itself.

nice - I was about to do the same ...but some measuring and testing of my OMP showed that I could do the same thing WITHOUT the kit. I have heard of people doing this, and I have trawled the net to find pics - but to no avail. Here is what I did.
Thats a 8mm hole on a Mikunui OMP

I will put a steel plug in the front cover to block that 'feed' and just run some clear high temp hose from the omp to the future tank (am in rebuild mode at present)
All the best - Rusty

Benefit of Oiler
Your burning an oil that's clean that doesn't lower the octane rating of your gas, its an oil that is designed to be burn,t and doesn't leave the carbon deposits that can cause problems with the seals.

Packaging is always a concern for these things. A friend mounted his custom tank where the airpump used to be after he deleted emissions. He also runs a single turbo so he has more room to start with. You live in CA, so emissions have to stay. Do you also have to worry about visual inspections?
Personally I added an AI system and pre-mix with a stock OMP. Increased lubrication under ALL conditions, less carbon, lower knock and better cooling. And I've never seen data, but I can't see the small amount of oil...any oil, from the OMP lowering octane levels.
