Turbo 2 rear end questions
Hey to all.. I'm embarking on the famous Turbo 2 conversion and I was a lil stuck with the rear end.. for now I'll just use the mazda trix turbo to Na driveshaft.. with this I'll be able to get down the road however here in long island.. someone heres your Bov, there bound to tailgate you untill you speed your car up (even if its honda behind you hahah)
I just wanted to know for piece of mind what exactly is in the rear end.. so far the only info I've found are half shafts, Lsd's and differentials all this kinds of confuses me. at least the differenctial part..
What I wanted to know is what parts are interchangeable and how can I run these set ups safely.. My goals are to 350 rwhp reliably and I want to dump i all on the pavement..
also is it possible to run the Fd rear end on the fc. some help will be helpful.. thanks guys

the rear end is the Diff itself and the 2 half shafts that go to the wheels.
I would suggest the TII rear,as it can handle HP.
and you can't put an FD rear into an FC..the guts maybe but not the physical differential.

is there a big difference between the s4, s5, and s6 internals of the differentials.. I know there is a difference in the Lsd types. hoping to put the fd torsen in with lil to no modifications.
correct me if I"m wrong...s4 and s5 rear ends are interchangable?

s4 and s5 diffs are interchangeable.
N/A to TII swap requires a TII Diff and halfshafts.
Depending on trans you can go TII trans to TII diff with a TII driveshaft,
IF you have a NA trans then you need a conversion shaft to go from Na Trans to TII diff.(mazdatrix sells them)
s4 and s5: one is Clutch type the other is Viscous(fluid type).I am not sure which is which(brain fart..sorry!)
you can't use the n/a guts in a TII case, and vice versa.
Just get a TII Diff and save yourself cashola!

use a TII rear and half shafts, and better yet the rest of the TII drivetrain. It will hold about 400 or so,easily. ...save money down the line.(then go Nuts and put in a Ford 8.8 and a 3 rotor..lol!)

just get a torsen diff....my friend is running 450hp on his turboII and is on his 4th diff, then he got the torsen and had no problems ever since....depends what ur using the car for too. if ur going to autocross or something smiliar ur fine with just a stock TurboII swap. =) hope that helps

and my brother in law just picked up a turbo II clone, the same ur doing on 10lbs of boost 300hp approx and is having no problems with the N/A rear. Depending if ur car is a GXL or not. I believe GXL has LSDs.

yes.. I have the gxl model. I think they have lsd too. just drifted my dead end and it stayed smooth. even though my car hesitates ..
btw.. i'm setting the car up for auto cross after the swap
