Turbo 2 low compression

So I got an 89 FC Turbo 2 about a month ago, it has ~60k miles on a rebuilt engine with a GReddy turbo and inter cooler. I want to use it for drifting so I took it to a shop that works on rotaries and when they did the compression test, they said that on a scale of 1-7, it was making low 6ís. Whatís weird is how there wasnít a noticeable decrease in power like an apex seal blew. Will something like that need a full engine rebuild or just new seals?

You should get them to provide you actual compression values in a measurable unit (psi). Their scale of 6 on a 1-7 tells us nothing. I would also question their abilities if they did not give you an actual value of compression.

I see you're in Georgia, I'm curious where you took the car. There were only 2 real rotary shops in the state (that I'm aware of), and one closed down a few years ago.

It doesn't sound like you went to Mazcare, as I'm sure you would have gotten a real answer on the compression.

I did take it to Mazcare, but my dad was the one who told me about it since I was busy, so Iíll ask him to check with them again. Just in case, whatís the other rotary shop in the state?

Its possible they were explaining it in laymans terms by giving the scale but they should have also given you actual numbers.

The shop was 3FaceRacing, but they closed their doors a few years ago due to personal circumstances. I still have Raffy's cell phone if you're interested, but you're in good hands at Mazcare.
