Turbo 2 low compression
So I got an 89 FC Turbo 2 about a month ago, it has ~60k miles on a rebuilt engine with a GReddy turbo and inter cooler. I want to use it for drifting so I took it to a shop that works on rotaries and when they did the compression test, they said that on a scale of 1-7, it was making low 6’s. What’s weird is how there wasn’t a noticeable decrease in power like an apex seal blew. Will something like that need a full engine rebuild or just new seals?

You should get them to provide you actual compression values in a measurable unit (psi). Their scale of 6 on a 1-7 tells us nothing. I would also question their abilities if they did not give you an actual value of compression.

I see you're in Georgia, I'm curious where you took the car. There were only 2 real rotary shops in the state (that I'm aware of), and one closed down a few years ago.
It doesn't sound like you went to Mazcare, as I'm sure you would have gotten a real answer on the compression. |

Its possible they were explaining it in laymans terms by giving the scale but they should have also given you actual numbers.
