my 88 gxl starts fine, but i would say 1/3 tries it wont start makes no noise, just all the lights come on, i pull the key back out and try and it fires up just fine, guy who i bought it from said i would prob have to replace starter eventually, could this just be the starter? or another prob?

 

Sounds like the starter. Try that first.
