MI Tracking down parking light issue and lack of power windows

I am having problems with the parking lights of the 88 convertible that i own. I am trying to figure out why they are not turning on properly or staying on.

When i first turned them on the parking lights would come on slowly, stay on for a bit and then go out. This happened repeatedly. Now the lights will not come on. Can someone give me ideas of where to check, if they had similar problems and how it was solved.

I had this problem on an 86 gxl but i beleived it was a loose wire to the control switch, but i never was able totally solve the issue. I have checked for loose connections at the control switch and nothing felt or appeared loose.

The power windows are not working properly on the convertible either. I have not been able to look into that issue. It just stopped working when i got the drivers side window halfway up. the switch for passenger side had not been working at all.

For both issues, there are no blown fuses on the car. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Groll!!! Haven't heard from you in a very long time! You need to come over to my place on the 27th: https://www.rx7club.com//showthread.php?t=905660

Now, on to your problem For the issue with the lights, do you think that it might be the switch? On 1st gens, the contacts get built up with crud and stop working. You grab a can of Electrical Contact Cleaner (like 5 bucks at Autozone), stick the plastic tube that come with it into the base of the switch, and hose away. Work the switch through all positions for a few minutes and that usually gets them working like a champ again. Not sure how this would apply to a 2nd gen though.

No clue on the window issue, sorry.

Hope to see you guys soon.

P.S. There is a thread in the Midwest section calling out to all MiRotary members, trying to reconnect with everyone since that forum died on us.
