TII swap into a GTUs
Hi Everyone... I've been on this forum off and on, but mainly off. I finally have a full-time job and can afford to rebuild the most expensive paper weight I've ever owned. It's been a while since I've gone through this forum and recalling things I've researched before. Anyways...I plan to swap a TII into a GTUs and do a mild port on it possibly... or whatever port that makes it brap at idle (bridge i think). I have never have done a swap before, but I'm mechanically inclined to figure it out.
I literally want to do everything myself as much as I can depending if it's cost/time beneficial. Also, looking to possibly drift this car or use this car to learn and build another as a drift car. I may not drift it because its a GTUs and I've read its hard to find them, but if not, then why not, haha.
First thing is first.... Where do I buy an S5 TII motor/transmission from a reputable company and what do I look for?
Question to moderators... Can I just keep adding to this thread like a build thread?

Lots of searching will answer most all questions.
I find using Google to search the forum, will narrow down the reading.
"rx7*place question here"
ask your question in as many ways (word combinations) as you can think of. There is almost 20 years of history in the Forum.
Enjoy The Build! Don't get in a hurry! Mine is down to finishing up the Tuning, car is so much fun

If you plan on a swap like this, I would actually recommend you buy a crashed turbo II or one with a blown motor. That way you will have everything you need (you never realize how many bits and bobs are needed for such a "simple" swap). I also suggest you take pictures as you pull it apart so that you have a "roadmap" as to how things go back together. This method will also allow you to upgrade/replace the suspension bushings and such outside the car so that when you're ready, you can install the front and rear subframes as two large units.

S5 TIIs are hard to come by aren't they?

You should be able to get plenty of info on rebuilders especially in Regional Sections where members will praise a guy for doing a good job on their engine!
..And It would be more pertinent to make a build thread to post your progress as this is a New TECH section and it is for guys to ask a quick question then move onto bigger and better sections..so to speak.
Good luck.
