Those little things that need fixing
Over the past several years, I've been trying to clean up/fix up and keep running my 1980 Rx7. As explained in another post, I'm the original owner. I slowly gotten the basics addressed -hoses/brakes/etc. Now, I am a petite woman, over 50 -approaching retirement faster than I was aware of, have lower back issues due a career as a nurse.............................although in the past I did my own oil changes/plugs/etc - I'm at the point where I need others to do the "dirty work"
. My knowledge base is moderate, just can't do the job any more! I want to find someone to do those "little things". I look at my Rx7 laundry list: fix the side mirrors so the glass stops rattling, replace all weather stripping, solder the wires back to the rear defroster........that sort of thing.........how do I find someone to work on those, in sort of a one-by-one fashion? Suggestions? I sure wish I had a car-nut in the family, but alas - no go. Are these "body shop" sort of jobs? I've only dealt with my regular neighborhood mechanic - over the years they have handled the basics fine. Any ideas are welcome! Thanks!
An auto body shop that specializes in classic car restorations (rather that collision repair) would probably be the best bet for most of that kind of thing. But I wouldn't expect to find the hourly rate to be cheap. Places like that tend to charge more, but also do a more thorough job.
