Things to do while UIM is off? (88-t2)
While going crazy trying to locate a Vacuum leak I ended up taking off my upper intake manifold, which was pretty straight forwards and there are no problems there. (which is exception of that coolant hose on the bottom, that is cruel.)
Since doing that I had been investigating other things, and found there is a big crack in my TID which is more likely the vacuum leak I was seeking out:
Since my engine is still in party disassembled state (UIM off, ect..) I was wondering if anyone could give me a few tips/suggestions/things to check out while I can see what's going on under there. What things are a good idea to check out while the UIM is off?
Also while I have the upper intake manifold itself off, are there any certain things to check out on it, as well?
(I guess I should also ask what exactly a good option is for the TID itself too.)

Fuel pulsation damper elimination banjo bolt. Replace fuel lines. Send injectors out for cleaning/flow test at an injector shop. Clean throttle body blades to remove carbon etc.
For the TID if you need a quick and cheap repair that's reasonably reliable, rough both sides of the crack up with sandpaper or a wire wheel, spray on some brake cleaner and then blow it dry, wait a little while to let all that evaporate, wipe the entire area down with a clean towel, then inject the crack with ultra black RTV, and smear some extra around inside (not a lot, just maybe 1/16" thickness). Slide it onto the turbo but don't clamp it down tight. Let the RTV dry this way (it should stick to the clean TID and not the dirty turbo). Now when you remove the TID, the crack is filled, and you can use it normally again. But, check it every year or so for the crack widening.
