Sunroof never opened.

The Sunroof has never been opened on my 85 GSL. Wondering if it might be a bad idea to try it at this point. Maybe the seals are so crushed if I take it off it will leak after putting it back on? Any opinions?

Depends on how badly you want the sunroof open. You should be ok.

My 86 had been left shut for 10 years. The tracks were so rusted I could barely get it open, just enough to remove it. Now I need a new panel and assembly. Like funkjaw said it depends on how badly you want it open. I would leave it alone.

i would say soak it first to allow the seal to absorb some moisture and once open inspect the seal and apply a lubricant. im sure it would be great to crack that thing open. good luck.
