Sunroof help!

Can anyone help with a couple questions about my sunroof? I have tried the button I can hear the motor running trying and I have also used the manual crank on it still nothing. Car was setting up for a few years. By the way my car is an 87 turbo II.

Were you pushing up on the back of it while the motor was running?

That would be a negative I didn't want to break anything. It is flush with the car. My car was sitting in storage for about four years and then I got it. I'm thinking that it hasn't been opened in forever so it's just stuck. I don't want to beat and bang on it.

I have to push up on mine for it to get started. Then I have to push the button again for it to open.

I had a very similar issue in my 86 n/a. Mine turned out to be a broken part on one side of the sunroof. To check this you have to take apart the sunroof which is very easy. All you need to do is pop out the liner and then use a socket wrench to remove about 8 bolts. After this you will be able to remove the sunroof and see any parts that could be missing or in my case snapped in half.
