My 2001 RX7 run fine...

Start without problem cold or hot.


But I have a question.


When I push gas and hit 3000rpm for a time that is around 1/2 sec i hear a sort of "Bwhooooom".

During this noise nothing strange happen and car continue to rev up without esitation.

Any idea?

Car is engine stock except for Aftermarket air filters

 

i started getting that noise after i changed out my stock air intake. they say its
the air pump doing that, but i took out mine and it no longer makes that noise.

 

Air pump. You can get a silencer for it but meh

 

I have no CAT atm and here emission test is not a problem..

I can solve this problem with

1)Stock Airbox
2)Remove Airpump


Q: the noise problem can be solved with AIR PUMP deactivation or i have to physical remove the pump? (and I need a shorter belt?)

 

im sure you can deactivate it, but i physically removed mine. you can do this by installing a pulley kit, it gets rid of the the belt that runs to the air pump. i went with a greddy.
