Red face Stock twin turbo upgrades?

I've always wondered if there's a way to just upgrade all of the components and keep an FD twin turbo'd and get some mean hp out of it. Would upgrading just the turbos work? like swap out some garrett's or another stronger/bigger turbos and have a new stand alone, intercooler, manifolds, etc?

It depends on what you mean about being "twin turbo." You can either "upgrade" the original twin turbos at a place like BNR listed below, or you could build a manifold and run two turbos on a completely different manifold. However, a decently sized single would be cheaper, simpler, and probably work just as well. What exactly is it you're wanting to do?

If you're going to swap all that stuff out, you may as well just go single turbo. You'll have half the heat, 1/4 the complexity, and twice the room.

The only real reason to keep the twins, IMO, is to keep the car stock-looking for the smog guy.

Honestly, it'd be for the sole reason of keeping the twin look. Just to say it still has the twin turbos and makes high, reliable horsepower. Kind of redundant and pointless, but I like to try and keep things are original-ish as possible, if that makes sense. I just think it'd be unique to keep the twins and make the same hp as a single and make it all bad a**.
