Stock FD stereo question

It seems that sometimes my stereo is sometimes very very quiet. Not even on the freeway, I mean windows up on a 35mph street I can barely hear it. Then at times I can drive with the windows down in a 50 and hear it just fine. Is there something in the system that could be causing this, or am I just crazy?

Are you talking about FM radio? I can't even hear my FM radio at all but the AM works just fine.

Mine is both. Its like the stereo itself is just quiet. AM-FM, even tried a tape to see if that would work. Still nothing.

Is this a GSL? with the stock stereo system. If so, there is an amp under the drivers seat. If so this could cause this. Over the years crap gets into this and cause problmes. the other amp is located in the rear storage compartment area.

If is a bose system its possible that the amplifiers are crapping out on you. Is it the factory head unit?
