Steering wheel removal help...

Hello, I am currently trying to fix the 5 beeps *pause* 5 beeps problem. I've been looking around for awhile and can't find any guides that go over how to exactly fix this so I thought I'd make my own post...

I know you have to take off the steering wheel and realign it. I have already taken off the 22 M bolt in the center of the steering wheel and want to know the next step. Earlier in a thread I was looking at someone said you could just pull it off, but I looked at the manual and it said I need a "puller" tool. Any insight on this?

That is generally a failure in the power steering system. Make sure that the power steering pump is connected properly and that the power steering ECU is getting an RPM/speed signal.

Once the big nut is removed from the wheel, it will pull off. Put a pillow between the wheel and your face, then yank very hard while rocking it back and forth. It will almost certainly pop off with some force and you will be glad the pillow is there.

I can usually yank the steering wheels off but I had to use a puller to get the one off my latest 7.

thanks for the help.

Anyone know what the "hubs" look like that are supposed to connect to the steering wheel once its off? Are they expensive to replace if broken?

See that Shaft that the Steering wheel WAS attached to?
(the one that you took the nut off of to take the Wheel off)?
The hub will accept that shaft on One side and on the other side is Six small screw holes that you attach the new aftermarket wheel to.
look up MOMO HUB for an RX7 on Google.you will see what it is.
