hey hows it going everyone.. i just bought my very first rx7 its an 85 with a 13b. when i got it it had been sitting for about 5 yrs . when i tried starting it only starts when i put starting fluid into the intake but doesnt stay on i changed the spark plugs flushed it and still doesnt stay on .. i will appreciate any help possible..

 

It's unfortunate you tried to start it after sitting for 5 years. You'll need to flush the ENTIRE fuel system, likely replace the fuel pump, have the injectors professionally serviced and cleaned.

Additionally if it sat without proper prep, you may have damaged the engine internally by scraping rust across all the machined surfaces.

yeah the guy before me told me that he had it running but just stopped driving it one day and it became 5 yrs. i did flush the fuel but havent replaced the injecctors or the fuel pump but thanks for the advice ..
