Starting Problem
I have posted so many times I feel like I'm leching..... -.-
I resently bought a 1986 Mazda RX7 FCs3
When I bought it the battery was dead so I bought a new one.
This was on a Saturday. Sunday morning I go to start it up but it wouldn't
I check the battery meter and it was about 3/4 so I try again and still the car would turn over but no catch so I stopped because I don't want to flood it. I checked the spark plugs and replaced them and also checked the starter and still the car turned over but no catch. So I stopped. Monday at 12 I went back to try again and when I turned it on the battery meter was very low and a warning beep came on. It was three beeps, pause, and it repeated again. So I tryed starting it up hopefully it would cathch and recharge the battery but no luck.
My question is... Is it a bad alternator, battery, or curcit problem
The lights and radio still work but I know that doesn't require much power.
Please if you can give me some solutions or any ideas I would gladly apreciat it
Thank you

Measure the actual voltage of the battery. Don't go by the meter on the dash.
A common cause for a phantom drain on the battery is a bad alternator.
But that won't cause the car to not start.
Go through the standard deflooding procedure. If that doesn't get it going, test for fuel, spark and compression.

The first deflooding procedure is remove the fuel injection fuse or unplug the crank angle sensor, turn over for a while, and then try to start. The second deflooding procedure is to remove all the plugs, unplug said fuse/CAS, turn over till all of the gas is out, and then try to start. The third and optionally with the second is to add a bit of motor oil in the leading (lower) plugs to help build compression.
The fourth and final method is to push start it using another car to push or pull it along.

I have a similar problem with my turbo vert. Sometimes i get into it and when i try to start it, i get nothing. But, if i keep cycling the key a few more times the engine will finally turn over. Been through the cables, making sure they are tight. The battery voltage is good and the alternator is charging the battery. I also have a problem with the engine not wanting to catch on warm days. It will turn over but just wont catch most of the time. On a cold day i can get into the car and get it to start and run with no problem. But on a warm day, it just does not want to catch and almost always floods. That's when i say screw it and get someone to give me a push and jump start it. Any suggestions????
