WA Starting Issue

I have a 87 gxl, one day it will start no issues whats so ever, the next day itll crank for a while then never fire and eventually flood, I pull the fuses and unflood the car but then it wont even crank and you just hear a clicking noise? Could be my starter?

Try jump start it, if it still doing it, it's your starter. That clicking noise is your starter engaging, but it will not turn over.

Crank but not start: Check plugs, coils, timing, compression.
Click but no crank: search in the 2nd Gen. section under terms like 'click' etc. On the FD, there's some voltage drop between the battery and starter from the factory. If the battery is just a little weak that can be a symptom. Not certain about the FC.

due to all the cranking you might have worn out the brushes, so the typical voltage issues might not be the problem here.

a compression test might help figure out the flooding issue.
